For project three I have decided to do a video about the meaning of life by using the perspective of an intoxicated individual who goes in and out of consciousness. The story begins by showing the individual being overwhelmed with the many demands of life; they are struggling trying to balance and a purpose for life. The doubts of adulthood and the idea of working a nine to five shift everyday to barely get by in life is beginning to sound unappealing. As a result doubt settles in leaving the individual questioning the meaning and purpose of human life; confliction between following societal standards and true meaning of life. After dwelling on this the individual's friends notice that they are feeling down and in need of a fun distraction; thus a night out. The night out begins with pregaming before heading to the bars / parties and the individual suffering from life conflict with already start to over indulge in drinking early on in the night. From the pregame they all move to the bar / party where drinking is obviously encouraged, maybe a little bit too much. The main individual exceeds their alcohol limit resulting in spotty consciousness, which creates the feeling of teleporting to different locations due to poor processing that occurs when intoxicated. After the main character reaches the blacking out stage I plan to show various different locations and the individual waking up in strange and disorienting situations; this will hopefully create a teleporting or dreamlike sensation. As for transitions I would like to draw or make digital designs throughout the video for when the individual is experiencing a situation unconsciously. I would also like to make some of my own music or add in small snippets of sound for background music; and possibly altering the music so that it creates an intoxicated effect. Towards the end of the video I want the main character and their friend to end up at a secluded and naturalistic location which allows them to tune into their surroundings without the distractions of city and daily life. While at this natural location they all find themselves stargazing and come to the realization that we are practically a speck of dust in the grand scheme of things and the universe. Therefore societal standards of how life “should'' be does not matter and is imposed on us in a way so that we think this is the only was of living.n
